The Most Under-rated Dollar Series in U.S. Numismatics Today!

In my opinion, the proof Eisenhower dollar series may be the most “optimistically” graded series in all of United States numismatics.

For example, if one goes by the generic PCGS and NGC population numbers for these coins, one would think literally 10’s of thousands of 1976-S Clad Type 1 Eisenhowers are out there in the highest Proof 69 grades with the heaviest cameo designation.

I have spent the last year hunting down the finest proof Eisenhower dollars for the new NGC Pedigree holder. The numbers below give you an idea of their difficulty.

There are a couple anomalies. The most notable being the 1978-S Eisenhower dollar population. Over time this will be the “least rare” date in the series in PF 69 ULTRA. I simply have not focused on acquiring this date, given its more common status, as I have the 1971 – 1976 issues – knowing how rare these early issues are in the highest PF 69 grade with truly exceptional ULTRA CAMEO contrast!
